Acupuncture Now!

As the sole acupuncturist here at Acupuncture Now, my goal is to provide a safe, friendly & effective treatment for clients.  A primary diagnostic technique is listening & observing a patient, which is why I do my best to listen attentively to a client’s issues and discern how best to handle their concern.  Indeed, an initial visit with me at Acupuncture Now can be up to 2 hours in order to grasp the particular patients needs.

There are also many modalities at my disposal, not just acupuncture.  Herbs, nutrition, orthopedic massage & cupping are also within the scope of East Asian Medicine practice, allowing a more rounded and integrated approach.  I also recommend cross discipline care with practitioners of Chiropractic care, Massage, Physical Therapy & One’s PCP’s & specialist when necessary.  Though I am licensed by the Oregon Medical Board I am not considered a doctor and therefore do need to refer people for diagnostics like blood work, X rays & MRI’s at times.  

Just as there are many modalities of care at my disposal, there are many health related issues that can be addressed as an East Asian Medicine practitioner.  The scope of practice ranges from musculoskeletal disorders to mental emotional ones; & this is a large scope!.  This medicine has been around for over 3000 years & takes a different approach towards dis-ease, comparing what is called the Macrocosm to the Microcosm.  In other words, the medicine is based on observing natural phenomenon over a very long period of time & comparing it to humans.  This is very overgeneralized, but is the basis of the medicine.
